Minute Media & Google Host an AI Hackathon

Earlier this month, Minute Media’s Tel Aviv office held an AI-focused hackathon in collaboration with Google Cloud. The event was initiated and planned by our VP of Data, Gilly Yehezkel-Hancox, and brought together the combined talent of our teams with Google’s newest suite of AI tools to tackle the industry’s leading questions around AI integration.

In today’s fast-paced, ever-evolving landscape of media and technology, we as a company recognize that long-term success hinges on a deeply rooted commitment to innovation. This dedication extends far beyond merely adopting new technologies, it is fundamentally woven into our company’s DNA  - touching upon everything from product development to content ideation to strategic partnerships - as well as coming to life through the continuous professional growth of our teams. 

With this foundation in place, Minute Media partnered with Google for a full day of collaboration, exploration and creativity. The high-energy event was more than just a friendly competition, it was a strategic and tactical investment in our teams, ensuring our tech and product departments are well equipped to take on the new opportunities and challenges AI poses for our business. Guided by both Google and internal mentors, Minute Media employees worked intensively with leading tools such as Gemini, Imagen, Veo, Chirp, Vertex AI and BigQuery to explore how to work smarter, faster and with greater impact. 

Over the course of the event our teams deepened their technical capabilities, explored how to rapidly integrate the latest AI into our products and workflows and opened doors for further innovation across the organization. 

Beyond the competition and prizes, the Minute Media x Google AI Hackathon demonstrated how creativity, technology and collaboration can create real, tangible value not only for our organization, but the industry as a whole. The event, while a fun and interactive way for our teams to stretch their creative muscles, was also a crucial step in deepening our teams' familiarity with powerful AI tools and integrating them into our core strategy.
